Tendonitis is described as an inflammation or irritation of a tendon. A tendon is the thick fiber-like tissues that connect the muscle to bone. The condition causes pain and tenderness just outside a joint. While it’s possible for tendonitis to occur in any of your tendons, it is mostly seen around your shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and heels.

Some common terms for specific tendonitis problems are:
• Tennis elbow
• Golfer’s elbow
• Pitcher’s shoulder
• Swimmer’s shoulder
• Jumper’s knee

Typically, tendonitis can be successfully treated with rest, physical therapy and medications for pain reduction. If tendonitis is severe and leads to the rupture of a tendon, you may need surgery.

Signs and symptoms of tendonitis tend to occur at the point where a tendon attaches to a bone and typically include:

• Pain, often described as a dull ache,

especially when moving the affected limb or joint
• Tenderness
• Mild swelling

We have all had sore, aching muscles from time to time. When you have muscle pain it can be focused on a small part of your body or your entire body. It can also range from slightly bothersome to overwhelming. The majority of the time the pain from muscle aches goes away on its’ own, but sometimes muscle pain can hang on for months.

The most common causes of muscle pain are tension, stress, overuse and injuries. This type of muscle pain is usually limited to a small area of your body, affecting only a few muscles. Muscle pain that seems to be felt all over your body tends to be the result of an infection, a sickness or a side-effect of a medication.

Common causes of muscle pain include:
• Sprains
• Muscle Cramps
• Influenza
• Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
