Relief from Neuropathy is Possible

Advanced Care for Neuropathy Relief

Most Neuropathy Patients that come to our Neuropathy Treatment Center have not seen a doctor that is also Board Certified in Neuropathy (BCN) from American College of Physical Medicine. Welcome to a Neuropathy clinic, with a Doctor board-certified in Peripheral Neuropathy, committed to helping patients with Neuropathy, located in Charlotte, NC.

Many times, the patients that we have been able to help, were told by other doctors that the Neuropathy symptoms in their feet, hands or spine won’t get better and they will just “need to earn how to live with it.” We have more hope that than, and science has proven that nerves can heal naturally.

If You Haven't already been Told You have Neuropathy: What is Neuropathy?

Peripheral Neuropathy refers to a problem with the peripheral nerves that send messages from the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain and spinal cord, to the peripheral nervous system-the nerves then spread throughout the rest of the body.

This damage to the peripheral nerves is known to be caused by many different types of problems or exposures.

What Causes Peripheral Neuropathy?

Some well-documented causes are reduced blood flow to the nerves; harmful levels of sugar in the blood (diabetes); long-term infections, exposure to pesticides; auto-immune disorders; even cholesterol lowering agents (statins) are a few of the causes of this debilitating condition.

The causes can be different for each patient and learning the cause can often be one step in helping the nerves heal naturally. Neuropathy is perhaps the most commonly diagnosed condition of the peripheral nervous system. Impairment of the peripheral nerves can result in a multitude of symptoms.

What are the Symptoms of Neuropathy?

Impairment of the peripheral nerves can result in a multitude of symptoms. Most people describe neuropathy symptoms to be in their hands and/or feet.  Even though symptoms of the feet and hands are most common, neuropathy symptoms can be present in other parts of the body. Our patients describe these symptoms most frequently:

  • Numbness
  • Nerve Pain
  • Tingling, pins and needles sensation
  • Burning
  • Heightened sensitivity
  • Imbalance when walking
  • Electrical sensations in feet and/or hands

Can Peripheral Nerves Heal?

Yes! It is well-known and established through scientific studies that peripheral nerves can and do heal. The main issue is that, in addition to getting the nerves healing, we want to halt the progression of the neuropathy. Ideally, we will also want to uncover what may causing the nerve damage in the first place. When the root cause of the neuropathy is discovered and proper support for the nerves is provided, it can boost the ability of the nerves to heal!

It is possible for damaged nerves from Neuropathy to repair and regrow.
Despite what doctors may have previously said to you, Neuropathy can be reversed, nerves can regenerate and heal.
Instead of masking the symptoms with medications or undergoing invasive procedures, with major recoveries, try our State-of-the-Art Technologies and Patient-Centered approach to getting to the root cause of your nerve damage and help improve/reverse it.

The amount of treatment required for the nerves to heal and repair will be different for each patient and can only be determined after a detailed evaluation with our Neuropathy experts and, often after the start of treatment therapies.

Testimonials: Real Patients & Real Results

Vena:

One of the patients that keeps everyone smiling in our office discusses how she feels about the neuropathy treatment she received.

Doug:

A patient whom we look forward to seeing on each of his visits discusses his neuropathy treatment with the Doctor.

Suzanne:

Dr. Shapiro has a conversation with one of our neuropathy patients. We have been dedicated to seeing Suzanne's symptoms improve.

A majority (near 80%) of the patients that qualify and stay true to our program, report over 50% improvement in their peripheral neuropathy symptoms. We don’t want to mask your symptoms; we strive to improve the functioning of the nerves which could drastically reduce the severity of your symptoms. In case studies, although rare, some patients have seen their neuropathy symptoms go away almost completely.

A recent patient of ours began neuropathy treatments with tremendous Neuropathy pain and numbness and +12% loss of nerve function and a great deal of numbness and pain. Now, only partially through treatment, his nerve function has improved by 50% (results, of course, may vary from patient to patient).
