Dr. Shapiro has been compassionately caring for patients, just like you, in the Charlotte region for over two decades, and has the experience of over 250,000 patient visits…
Beginning at the age of 12, Dr. Shapiro knew he had passion for helping and caring for people, which came in part, from his parents who were active volunteers in their community when he was growing up. His love of science and health became apparent during his high school years, where he excelled in those areas of study. Dr. Shapiro set his sights on being a health care provider who could care for people in the manner he would want to be cared for, if he was suffering from a chronic condition.
He opened his first practice in Charlotte in 1996, and remained in the same location for 20 years. The experience of seeing over 25,000 patients visits, gave him unique insight about the chronic conditions that some of his patients and others were dealing with daily. Dr. Shapiro then opened a second location in 2013, dedicated and limited to the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, serious spinal disc issues, knee and joint problems. He studied the most current research and protocols, and even developed a trademarked treatment. Dr. Shapiro also made the decision to team up with two highly specialized groups to provide a comprehensive approach to the needs of his patients. The technologies used by Dr. Shapiro are both FDA-cleared, and proven effective by years of medical research.
Fortunately, today, there are highly advanced treatments that can be effective by concentrating on the root of the problem, not the symptoms. Select Health of the Carolinas is a facility that focuses only on these treatments, and seeks to make your chronic pain a thing of the past.
Dr. Shapiro has appeared in print, on television and radio for his approach to both Neuropathy and Disc Care without injections or surgery. Dr. Shapiro has been selected for 3 consecutive years as a top provider in his field by “Charlotte Magazine.” Dr. Shapiro provides consultation advice for other physicians across the country and speaks publicly on various healthcare related topics.
He graduated from Bloomfield College in 1989; Graduated from Life University in 1995; Received his Neuropathy Board Certification in 2022.
Dr. Shapiro is married with 2 adult children.
